SMSNA Webinar Series: Diabetes and Sexual Dysfunction

Dr. Juan José Andino is a urologist who specializes in the evaluation and management of Men’s health, sexual medicine, and male infertility.  He completed his residency training at the University of Michigan and completed his fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine & Surgery at UCLA.

Dr. Barnard is an assistant professor of Urology at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed medical school and Urology residency at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV. He then completed the Eric S Wisenbaugh Fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery and Prosthetics at the University of California - Irvine. After completing fellowship, he returned to his home state of West Virginia and joined the faculty at WVU to establish his practice in Reconstructive Urology. His clinical focus is male lower urinary tract reconstruction, prosthetic urology, and upper urinary tract reconstruction in a primarily rural, medically underserved patient population of approximately 2 million in Appalachia. He is an active Member of GURS, SMSNA, and the Mid-Atlantic region of the AUA.

Adrian Sandra Dobs, MD, MHS, is Professor of Medicine and Oncology and Director of the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (JHCRN). The JHCRN is a multi-institutional collaboration linking academic and community hospitals in the mid-Atlantic United States.

Dr. Dobs received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a medical degree from Albany Medical College, in New York, and completed an internship in internal medicine at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx, New York. She held a fellowship in endocrinology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and earned a master in health sciences degree in cardiovascular epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. 

Dr. Dobs is an active clinician seeing patients with general endocrine problems, with a subspecialty in sex hormone disorders. She has been an investigator on several NIH-funded studies evaluating the relationship of sex hormones and cardiovascular risk. She lectures in the United States and internationally in these areas, as well as aging and testosterone therapy and testosterone and cardiovascular disease.
With book chapters, monographs, and journal articles, as well as television and Web contributions, Dr. Dobs has published extensively on topics that include sex hormones and its relationship to metabolic disorders. Journals publishing her research include the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, JAIDS, and Journal of Andrology. She has sat on multiple NIH grant review committees and data safety monitoring boards. 

Dr. Dobs is very active in mentoring medical students and postdoctoral fellows and was honored by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with the David M. Levine Excellence in Mentoring Award.

Dr. Hsieh completed his residency training at George Washington University and fellowship in Male reproductive medicine and Microsurgery at Baylor College of Medicine.  He is currently a professor of Urology at UCSD, director of Men’s Health Center and High Complexity Andrology lab.  

Dr. Alyssa Yee is a Sexual Medicine Physician and Reconstructive Urologist who completed her clinical fellowship at San Diego Sexual Medicine in 2021-2022 under the mentorship of Dr. Irwin Goldstein. In her fellowship, she was awarded the SMSNA Foundation Research grant to investigate neuroproliferative vestibulodynia–a painful sexual condition of the vulva. 

A long-time New Yorker, she is an esteemed graduate of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Barnard College at Columbia University. She complete a urological surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Her Professional and research interests include neuroproliferative vestibulodynia, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, hormonally mediate sexual pain, reconstructive urology, access to care, and penile prosthetic surgery. She sits on the medical advisory board for Tight Lipped.
